Purchasing first table questions

OK, so I am getting ready to purchase my first table.

I done as much research as I can but I am having trouble telling how much difference there is in the various pool tables available. Obviously, the furniture itself is different. Similarly, some of the tables are obviously made of sub-par materials such as MDF.

Once I eliminate the tables like the above and those outside my price range I am basically left with three manufacturers available in my area.
  • Olhausen
  • Connelly
  • Presedential

There is a lot of info available on Olhausen but very little on the other two smaller manufacturers.

Connelly, it seems was purchased in 2011 and the manufacturing was moved to Texas. Most reviewers seem to think it was a quality table prior to the move but I can find little to no info on if quality has changed post acquisition.

Presidential appears to be mostly manufactured in Africa with final touches applied domestically. It seems they use African hardwoods which are, potentially, more durable than domestic woods.

They all make tables that seem well constructed to me, but I have no real expertise in this area so I thought I would ask the experts here for opinions.

I am currently leaning towards the Presidential billiards models but that is mostly based on appearance which is probably not the best way to buy a pool table.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, nevermind.

Took my wife to the store today and she fell in love with one of the Olhausen tables and so I figured at least I know what I am getting. :)

Thanks for looking and hopefully we will be happy with our table in a couple of weeks.

The one I bought was called a Bordeaux by the retailer. I couldn't find it on the Olhausen site but it looks just like the New Orleans.

If you are gathering details about Pool tablesmeans then you can Google it and find out which one is beat???and make some discussions with your friends and neighbor they can give you better idea.
