Why do people think it is so good for cues, what makes it so different.
Thanks, J

I like Purple Heart Wood because it looks great (if you like purple) and it hits very solid. Most of the pieces I have used were very stable and the cues stayed straight for many years.

When I was a young man (50 years ago) almost all the house cues were made with Purple Heart. Later on in life when I started playing pool again I was shocked to find that the house cues were made from other woods. I remember saying to myself "where are all the purple cues".

I think it makes a well balanced cue.

Good Cuemaking,

I like it's stability and it has a little extra weight then maple. I have used it for my wrap stock for like 25 years.

That's a lot like asking - why does Louiville Slugger think
ash is so good for baseball bats?

Besides alll the good points already stated - 100 plus years of good cues.

Who are you kidding? You just wanted to show off that pretty cue :)

Merry Christmas,

Hahaha... Busted. I love PH cues. That's one bad-a$$ handle too. The Hoppe (did I say anything wrong?) is a plus. Should be a good addition to my cue Kevin. :D

Nice color combination......never would have thought of it. I suspect some of that is due to the specific color of each iof these woods, as color can vary so much. Mu kind of cue.
