Putting Kamui Clear on new Predator Vantage shaft

Looking to replace the Predator Victory tip with a Kamui Clear. There seems to be what Predator calls "V-Tek Fiber Tip Silencing" and it appears to be a fiber pad between the ferrule and layered tip. My guess is that pad should be removed because the Kamui already has that clear piece, can anyone advise on what is best with these new Vantage shafts?

Thanks
Mike

Kamui Clear Install on PRedator Vantage

Hello,
The fiber tip should remain in place when the Kamui Clear is installed. Removing the fiber pad will change the way the shaft plays and most likely void the warranty from Predator as well. The clear pad on the Clear tips are meant to prevent glue from "wicking" into the leather allowing the tip to play more consistent over time(when it gets low) and allow for a more consistent install.

I'd recommend using stardard black instead. They play the same and you can just glue it on the pad with super gel. Thats what I would do if it was my shaft

fiber pad

The clear piece of plastic doesn't act like a fiber pad.
I would leave the fiber pad on or put a knew fiber pad on.

Thank you all!! This forum is great and based on the replies I will definitely be leaving the pad on. Will try the Kamui Clear first and see how that goes since that it what I have available right now. Trying the Kamui non-Clear like Kimmo H. suggests seems logical and will try it on the next tip change.

Again, thanks much!
Mike
