Sew Tech 5100...... Anybody use this one? Thoughts? I am strongly considering this one...Company is located in Canada, so that's a consideration for service.

Here's some specs on it, from their site.

Thanks Larry

Wow pretty amazing that It went through that plywood without breaking. I would have a hard time believing that without seeing it.

Wrong machine. I was looking at the video.

The techsew is a good machine for leather work. We have a similar one and use it a lot.

Hey John
Yeah I realize the machine in the vid is different than the tech sew, but I have seen the Cowboy / Cobra / and Artisan (clones) machines do the plywood thing as well. There is a guy who has the tech sew for sale locally, so I was interested in that.

Have you had any service / support issues with your tech sew? Larry

I have a Chinese version of it and so far it's given us no trouble for the past three years. I do have someone come in once a year and service all of our machines to keep them running right.

That brand has been gaining respect. I bet it would do anything you want. Possibly a little heavy for leather less than 4oz. Service shouldn't be a problem as these copy a lot of the parts and mechanisms possessed by consew and juki.

Thanks for the input.... I think your right there is a lot of clones out there. They seem to all look very similar. Cowboy / Artisan / Cobra / Tech Sew...

Most of my stuff is 7-9 oz but it really depends on the project. -Larry
