2 or 3 years ago TAR streamed the action from Q-masters. There was not much action for the first couple of days so they had to try to stir up some action. It was pretty awesome once they got the action rolling. I remember watching Neils Feijen giving someone the 8 playing 10-ball in a race to 25ish for 2-3K.

Doesn't sound like that would be a problem this year though.

TAR from Q-masters

It would be great if streaming would be economically feasible. The year TAR was there for 7+ days, it cost a lot of time and money.

If someone can come up with a reasonable solution, TAR would look at it - but so far it seems people will watch a free stream and very feew will pay for a PPV.

Not complaining - that is just the way it is.

And in a setting like a pool hall, there can be very little notice of a great match-up - so it is hard to get the word out so people could buy the feed.

Just a trap in the world of streaming. Perhaps sponsorship is the answer.

I agree Mark, sponsorship is the only way live streaming will make it and I have said that for awhile now. PPV I do support but to be honest the numbers obviously are not working too well. If you had tens of thousands watching free streams of these big matches perhaps getting sponsors to pony up the cash might not be a big problem but I do not think they know how big the numbers really are. The numbers are much bigger than billiard papers and magazines IMO and the sponsors ads are in your face either through banners or commercials. :)

I gave them $1000 or $1500 to help them cover costs for that stream and they still lost $$$, i cant remember its been so long. it was $$$ I won and Chad collected for me from a previous event told them to keep it.

if the pool room owners installed the equipment then its a possibility, if its cool with the players, If I owned a room I'd have streaming permantly set up on 2 tables maybe 3 if it was a big joint, but not on every table.

another point is not everyone wants their biz in the streets, when you play in a tournment you figure to be on video at some point, or do a TAR event you know your on video. But when some guys play they dont want to be on camera, speaking for myself depending on the circumstances I dont want rail birds let alone a video.
