Does anyone know what Q Smooth Paper are, and where they can be purchased in Larger Qualities, or Pieces.

I like the product, but think most of the price is for Packaging & Marketing

Bruce, after you have used them for awile they build up gunk and dont work as well. Get an old toothbrush and get the films wet then gently scrub away gunk and BLAMMO - new q-smooth papers.

100 times better than a $ bill!!!

Thanks for the Tip, but we got 39 Cent Tooth Brushes we use on the Dog. So I will use a New Clean one.

I normally Run the Papers Under Water after using. So far so good.....

If those are the plastic papers I have some but don't know the grit. However MicroMesh makes a cloth backed paper or foam and cloth, that work vey well. I needed several different grits for another project and I use them on the pool cue as well, The ones I bought are 4000, 6000, 8000, and 12000 grit. The foam backed ones have two polishing surfaces and all clean up with a little soap and water.

I bought mine from http://www.sisweb.com/micromesh/ I think they have a $25 minimun order so you might want to split an order with someone.

Does someone have the answer to that question?

1 micron is smaller than 30 micron.

1 micron = .001 mm
30 micron = .030 mm

We use these pads at my work for polishing glass fibers. Yes, 3M makes them. However, the color of the pads can vary from lot to lot.

Anyone know what colors = what grit?

I looked at the link. In my experience, the dark green is 30 micron. However, like i said in my other post, color can vary from lot to lot, so don't get hung up on that.

These look like they are mylar sheets with the 'grit' being aluminum oxide.

Try the Q-Wiz, small disk with two fine grits...it's washable and reusable...$6.95...can't beat it...I've had mine for two years...still does the job!

If you ever do get a stack of those, do me a favor and send some my way...
I just scrub some soap on a toothbrush and brush them under warm water.. everything comes straight off...
