I'd Watch It !

Can you imagine what it would be like, if this whole thing ended up on Court TV ?
The list of characters from the pool world and AZB subpoenaed to testify would win Court TV an Emmy....

KT past acts have nothing to do with this case, on the surface it looks like nothing more then a business gone bad and one persons lies and exaggerations can be another persons optimistic vision.

I think in the end all of this may be meaningless, unless they are complete idiots, they have the company set up to protect themselves. I would imagine, there is nothing really value wise to go after, I am surprised an attorney would even take the case.

Right now, both sides are jawboning each other (feeling each other out
:eek: ). KT is making a lowball 10-33% payout settlement offer. And the players are threatening to organize and sue for the full amount owed.

Ultimately, I think both sides will settle for 2/3 of the amount owed. KT can close up shop and cut his losses and the players will recover more than what they have gotten otherwise.

Brilliant, Doug!!! Sic the Blonde Banshee of Court TV on 'em!! Now that Deno's allegedly been accused of sexual misconduct, she should pounce all over it. If just the threat of having to deal with her doesn't make KT pay up, then nothing will.

Ok, no more shouting but please, for your own sake, understand that you are at VERY great risk for being sued yourself under a theory of what is called "tortious interference with contractual or business relations" plus defamation.

If you say or publish things...the effect of which is to hurt the IPT's relationships with entities such as pool room owners...then your ONLY defense to an accusation of defamation is the TRUTH....but the WHOLE TRUTH...and the burden of proof is ON YOU. The plaintiff DOES NOT have to prove that they are innocent of your charges...rather, you have to prove that they are guilty of what you charge them with.

Lying, for example is HARD to prove. Saying things that don't turn out to be true is NOT necessarily lying. You have to prove that they KNEW (or should have known) that the statement was falsewhen it was uttered.

In addition, assuming KT/IPT have any money...which all this lawsuit discussion presumes...then what makes you think they don't have the money to sue you??

If they do, you are looking at AT LEAST $25,000.00 in legal expenses to defend yourself...and even if you are ruled innocent of the charges you are NOT likely to get a ruling to reimburse your legal fees.

TIMBERLY....I am on your side here. I am not your or the player's enemy. TRUST ME!! STOP SENDING POTENTIALLY DAMAGING STATEMENTS TO ANYONE THE IPT DOES BUSINESS WITH. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO GAIN AND POTENTIALLY A LOT TO LOSE. AT THE VERY LEAST DO NOT SEND ANY COMMUNICATIONS TO ANYONE UNTIL APPROVED BY YOUR LAWYER.

Never a bad idea to check with a lawyer first.

The bottom line is I'm sure that if no one at any room that is hosting the qualifiers knows what is going on, they are remaining ignorant by choice, and any unsolicited information is going to be ignored as well.

The tournament cancellations I am sure have alerted them already.

I still don't see how sending them copies of an interview that KT did for a billiard magazine and copies of published news articles quoting the players could be illegal?? :confused: It's no different than BD mailing their magazine to the pool room.

They're out there on the web for all the public to see if they happen upon it. I'm not talking about writing letters telling them not to hold qualifiers, I'm just talking about sending copies of the stories out.

If it means you won't yell at me again, I'll refrain from doing so. :D

Doesn't matter anyway. Up until Fri, the players had been silent and still somewhat supportive. Now that they're uniting and speaking out... word will definitely travel through the pool halls now.

With all the players speaking their minds about this... the pool room would have to be in a cave not to learn about this stuff now. ;)

Nothing wrong with that. Of course, I don't have any idea what, exactly, you are sending or whether you are including any personal views or "editorializing."

You deserve great credit for your zealous actions on behalf of the players. I was just trying to provide you with advice to be careful.

I wasn't going to editorialize anything. I was just going to make copies of the BD interview with KT and of the story on the homepage on AZ. I was going to provide the web address for both sites.

I think the content speaks for itself, I wouldn't need to do any commentary. ;)

Like I said... now that the players have decided to not keep quiet... I think the word will spread a lot faster now. :cool:
