Hello, pool table mechanics. I am working on a short list to hire a mover and installer and hopefully a qualified mechanic to move my new used Brunswick Monticello 8-foot table a hundred miles to my shop.

One hopeful advertises this:
"Pool Table leveling can be very tricky with very expensive machinist levels that only level one of three pieces of the playing surface at a time. We at ABCXYZ Billiards, level the entire playing field at one time with precision equipment."

I've never heard of leveling a three piece slate table by this method, but then why should I know much about leveling a pool table, right?. I think this single comment leaves these guys out of consideration, though otherwise they seem good enough.

Comments about leveling, please, from one of the AZB mechanics will be greatly appreciated.

Please ask them what precision tooling they are using. Machinist levels are pretty precise.

ALL 3 piece slates get leveled one slate at a time, until all 3 pieces are leveled to each other creating one level surface.

Hah, it's funny they mention a machinist level,,,,,,,, I've personally seen Glen use like 17 of 'em all at the same time. I'd pass on that guy.

Thanks, that level-all-three-slates-at-once outfit is His-tor-eee as far as I am concerned.

I am now working with Shane Johnson. I have confidence my needs, which are not great, will get addressed properly.
