An older friend of mine named Bill S. has an original Gus Szamboti. He still has al the paper work and the original shipping box. Now this cue is not at all fancy. Just a plain 4 point cue with either 3 or 4 veneers. Still has the original wrap. He has 2 original shafts, maybe minus the original tips. He is just looking to see what the market will bring for it. I told him that right now i think that the market might be soft. Am i wrong???? If so please correct me. He also has an original frank paradise cue ( I also believe he has the original receipt for this also) with his name in the butt that you can see thru the plastic window like Palmer use to use.. This cue also only has 4 points with the same amount of veneers. Only problem with this cue is that it has double (2 sets of 2) yellow rings that have come a little loose. I believe i have pictures on my computer of both cues. So can anybody give me a rough idea on how much these both might be worth. And oh yes. He just received a new Paul Mottey that he now loves............................mike

I don't think the market is ever soft for an authenticated Gus Szamboti cue. Some of the knowledgeable traders can give you an estimate.

Are the sleeve and points ebony, rosewood, or .....?

it would be wrong for me to put a $$$ amount on the cues not being an expert, but I will remodel your friends bathroom for free and I'm buying the parts....for the Szamboti!.....yup, it's worth at least that much to me! :D

disclaimer....I only work in PA....:)

I'm thinking between 6800-8500. But I'm no expert. Will really depend on condition.

I'd say closer to the 8500, if not more with the paper work and box. A friend of mine just sold a 4 point, 4 veneer for 6800. It had windows in the butt though. But you're right, the market isn't ever soft for a Gus

$6000-$6500 likely. Depends on who the buyer is....maybe slightly more for an end buyer, maybe slightly less from a dealer.

contact don sherman sure-man cues tell him lee sent you
989 362 0963 he is about the oldest dealer going right now
and im sure he would be interested call him in the mornings
he works after 12 each day

Ok we'll call it 7kish....:D Does anyone know what's the highest price Gus ever sold one of his cues for? Just curious, I heard a number once & I was just wondering. Oops I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Looks like Gus simply was too much to overlook, but Frank also made cues that are now collectible! I would probably put a nice Paradise "plain" titlist style cue with window in the $2500-3000 range? Am I off guys?

Got to agree. I sold one just recently, with authentication, and those numbers are right on.

This thing is pretty minty

...nice cue...I think a private sale would bring at least 8K...with all the collectibility. It was a 300 cue, I am amazed! It is an amazing cue, very sad it will get bought, put in a collection and never played again.

throw these dawgs some bones/pics

we sure would like to kick some tires on these! would love to see a frank paradise! would love to see a g.s. as well.
