My friend has a D5 that he wants to use for the local bar. He has a butt without a shaft. Where can he find a replacement shaft? What pin is it 3/8 10? Thanks.

I have replacement shafts for sale with a Black collar for $50 shipped. These are shafts that are mass produced, and that I buy in quanity. They will fit any standard 3/8-10 joint.

Yes the pin is 3/8-10, and the original shaft did have the same collar as the butt. He can also contact McDermott directly and get a perfectly matching shaft for the cue. I think Mcdermott would charge around $130, andthey would most likely want the cues butt sent to them. Now in my opinion, he should also just have the cue refinished by them at that time. The shaft I am offering is a standard 29 inch shaft, that is 3/8-10, like I said before the collar is plain Black that will match the cues diameter very close, but maybe not perefct. I could make a custom shaft with a matching collar for $120, however, I would like the butt aslo to insure a perfect match.

The original D-5 cue had an off white joint as most D series cues with a deco-ring being black with around a .040 thick maple stitch ring with 8 black stitches if I remember right.
