Yup I have seen 2 12 pointer so called prototype cues years ago, both are Jerry era ebony into bem, I received offers ranges from $5700~$6000 however since I am no lover for wrapless cue I just let go :o

But were they full splice cues? I don't think I've ever seen a full splice cue (other than conversions) from South West.

I've never heard of a full splice with more than four splices, unless you count the Brunswick 360 style cues or something that Darrin Hill has done. There are SW cues with recuts that have many splices depending on what you count as a splices. Butterflies are usually laminations imo, and not splices (ie; snooker cues, BHQ style stuff) that is unless there is a full v-cut for one piece to fit into another.

examples of 4+ splices in full splice contruction:

matty is there anything about pool cues that you dont remember?

Dmitry has done 6 point full splices.

Darren Hill does great work but he isn't the only one doing more than 4 point full splices ;)

I've seen a couple 12 pts as well. I owned the 12 point Jerry that ended on cornerstone. I sold it years ago to a customer. It wasn't the prettiest cue, but interesting prototype. Also, another 12 point wrapless was pictured in the 2001 American Cuemakers calendar.
I have a 6 high and 6 recut point cue coming soon. This is a different type of 12 pointer from SW as well.
Best,
Ken

well the offer one of which was too good to forget, I am a SW lover but I just couldn't do wrapless its a pity though, happy new year BTW:D

could be possible as long as the base is not 6 pointer, they can do 4 pointer as base with additional points interval

yup I think I saw one lined up in one of the pix showing group of your fancy SW cues, BTW you don't have one coming, it will be rerouted anyway:D

Don't think so.....

I'm guessing that's why there were both done in ebony, so any seams would be harder to spot

I've seen very renown members here mislabel things before. I still can't wrap my head around how they could do 12 points fully spliced into the forearm, and I have researched some pretty obscure joining methods. The only way I can tell would be to cut points in the forearm first, but it still doesn't add up.

Anybody here own one of these?
