Question about Aramith balls.

The pool hall that we normally play at has balls that must be at least 20 years old and look like they been used in the parking lot. I went out and bought a set of Aramith Standards to use when we play.

My question is about the cueball in that set. After a few games it looks like an old soccer ball. My girlfriends red dot never gets chalk marks like that on it. Could it be from jumping with the phenolic tip thats putting the marks on it or do they just look like that from normal play? It takes buffing compound to get the marks off.

Question 2. Should i just get another red dot to replace the cueball in that set?

Question 3. Whats the best ball cleaner to use?

Thanks for any info you might give me.

I have Brunswick Centennials. My cueball gets chlak marks. I wipe the marks off after every rack. If you leave the marks, they're harder to get off and you run a chance of the cue skidding on certain cut shots.

I use aramith ball polish.

My aramith cue ball is like that too. I wipe it good with a damp towel every couple of days and occasionally wipe/buff it with aramith ball polish. There are still faint marks on it but it looks clean enough.

Aramith balls are graded according to type. If you buy a cheaper set you will also get a lower quality cue ball which will be the first thing to show wear.

I would purchase a Red Circle Cue Ball (Also Made bu Aramith) or a Aramith Pro cue ball to use with your set that will take of your problems.

Merry Christmas!!!!
