Question about cleaning

So, I just bought a Balance Rite cue extender and it had a sticker affixed to it. I managed to scrape the sticker off, but was using a damp Magic Eraser to get rid of the gummy crud. Some of the water dampened the inner flat part near the threads (you know, it's raw wood there, not varnished). Is that going to cause a problem?

No, just let it dry out well before you use it. Water becomes a problem for wood if it's either consistently soaked or goes through repeated soak/dry cycles.

Don't try to dry it mechanically like with a hair-dryer or anything. That heats trapped water and makes it expand. Room temp for a day or two and you're good to go.

BTW, a product called GooGone is great for removing adhesive residue. Just a little bit on a paper towel and then towel it dry.

Get a cup of un cooked rice and put the wet part in the rice.
After the rice has suck the moisture out of the wood boil rice fore 2o minutes and serve :thumbup:

The goo gone works well, as will a drop of oil rubbed into the sticky residue. Personally I use Lemon Pledge to remove the stuff and it leaves it smelling lemony fresh.
