I have a cue that I had made for me in 97 and now that I am getting back into playing I am thinking about having it refinished. We no longer live in the area where I had the cue made and the person who made it no longer makes cues, his son makes them now.

So I want to have it refinished by someone who lives closer to where I am. My question is the origional cue maker signed and dated the cue next to the base of one of the points. If I have it refinished will I loose the signature?

It depends upon how bad the cue is beat up. If its not real bad then it shouldnt be a problem. I have refinished over a 100 cues from other makers and only lost 3-5 signatures because they was beat up ... So you should be ok getting it refinished. Make sure that the person doing it knows what there doing...
