Question about leg leveler

I have an old Valley coin op table. The leg levelers shafts (threaded shaft) are a little bent so I decided to replace. However, the new ones I ordered, which have the same thread size, are about 30% or 40% smaller in circumference. This is an 8 foot table. Will the smaller leg levelers effect the stability of table?

The ones on the table may be the wrong ones in the fist place, so the new ones you got, being smaller in size are probably the correct ones for the Valley table already.

Not possible. The news ones are "valley replacement levelers." They just started making them a few years ago, per the seller. My table came from a dealer with about 20 other Valley tables in a warehouse. All had the same levelers. You can tell by looking at these that they've never been off. A couple are rusted on there. The old valley photos also have them pictured. The valley website also has the original levelers (like mine).....I failed to check that before I ordered....my fault.

I can get some originals for a little more money and more shipping cost, but I would need to return the new ones I got. I'm trying to save some shipping, etc and use the smaller ones. Just wondering about stability with smaller ones on an 8 foot table. I do like the fact that the replacement (after market) ones I ordered have a better way to turn them if they warp. They have section that a wrench can be used to turn them.

Jed, I've worked on Valley/Dynamo pool tables for about the last 28 years buddy, the smaller leg levelers are the originals.

This is the first style Valley used.

Valley later switched to this more modern style that you can adjust using a pipe wrench.

You may be right....you would know for sure, but my table is at least 50 years old. The guy I bought it from said it is around 50 years old. He's 80 something now and has about 20 or so of these things in a warehouse. I'm trying to buy another one before he passes. All have the same legs that mine has. I stripped other parts, but he won't let me have any legs or levelers. I'm right at 50 and played on it when I was 10. My dad had it in his pool hall in the 70s. That's why I bought and refurbished it.....pretty cool watching my 6 year old play on the same table as I did.

Ken at Classicbilliards said it's probably older than 50 years and confirmed that my legs are original. He is helping me get the old ones off. He said the era my table was built they put the larger legs on. They went with the type you posted sometime in the 70s or early 80s. If you google vintage valley, you can see the levelers I have and also the ones you posted. Thanks for response....always interesting talking to someone about old pool stuff.
