Question About McDermott Sneaky Pete

I have a quick question that I think someone can help me out with. I figured this would be the best section. The cue will probably be for sale, but I need an answer first.

I have a McDermott Sneaky Pete. It is brand new and has the sticker one it still. It says it is a M11B. The tag reads $185. The M11B's that I have seen on the internet are all more expensive then $185. Another thing is it does not have the McDermott logo on the cue. I just want to make sure this is really the cue the sticker says. I did take the stick off to make sure the logo was not underneath it. Thanks!

rossaroni post up some pics...is there a logo on the bumper?

No, there is not a McDermott logo on the bumper. The sticker is kind of messed up, because I took it off to see if the logo was under it.

Is there any other logos on the bottom of the cue? also that bumper isn't a standard McDermott and every McDermott I've seen has a 3/8x10 pin that looks like a 5/16x18 even their lower cues like the star series has a 3/8x10 pin.

If I'm wrong someone please correct me. Thanks

not a McDermott

My guess would be not a McDermott. The bumper is wrong also there is a brass insert in the shaft, have never seen that in a McDermott.

I've seen a marked McDermott sneaky pete with that joint. I don't remember the bumper. This may be an older version of the one I saw.

Hate to say it but you may have been had on this one! Ive never seen a Mcdermott with a brass insert in the shaft and no M on the butt (sneaky pete)

Thanks for the responses everyone. So...we still are not completly sure:frown:. Before everyone starts laughing at me for buying a fake McDermott...its ok, because I actually stole it from someone.:grin-square:

Btw, I am not out any money on it and it does not matter if it is a McDermott or not. Would just like to know. Thanks again everyone!

Not so fast!

I've owned a McDermott sneaky pete and indead it did have a brass insert. On these model sneaky pete's the clover leaf is gold in color and may be hard to see. The bumper also looks identical to the one that I owned.(bought mine new by the way.) You need to send some good pics to McDermott to verify, however I believe is the genuin artical. Hope I helped.

Good....was able to rescue the cue from the fireplace before it was too late. :indecisive:

The one thing thast is weird is that the price tag from McDermott has the price lower then the other sneaky's I have seen.

They reference a brass insert for added strength. You have the real deal.

I also have a M11B Mcdermott and it does indeed have a brass insert and the logo is gold and difficult to see and the bumper looks like yours. I had broken the shaft a few years ago and the shaft McDermott replaced it with also had the brass insert.

I remember reading about it a long time ago on the mcdermott site.
The insert is added for strength and the bumper is like in the pic to have it look more like a house cue. I think this was around 2001-2003; the cues where a lil cheaper back then.
