question about pocket size

I bought an 8 foot pool table 3 months ago and I'm concerned the pockets are a little small. At the pool hall where I used to play I could take 2 balls and put them in the pocket opening but on my table I can fit only one ball and a half. I'm using 2 1/4 inch balls (57mm). I measured the pocket opening in one of the corners and it's 3.7 inches (95mm). The middle pockets seem like they are a little too big maybe.

I just wanna know if this is how pockets are supposed to be like.

No, those don't look normal at all. Your corners are very small and the angles look almost parallel. The side pockets look very wide and angled out more than normal.

A couple questions... where are you located?

Is that a slate table? What brand?

Those pocket angles can be corrected, but it may not be worth the cost on that table depending on what it is.

Well just by looking your pockets are literally too small they should extend to the edge of the rail as shown in the picture below. Typically a standard pocket on a furniture style pool table will measure 5", and the side will measure 5 1/2" give or take. There is something seriously wrong with your actual leather pocket of your pool table. Where did you buy it and what is the brand?

I don't live in the US, I live in Romania. The table's slate is approximately 3/4 of an inch thick (20mm), it's not a name brand table, it only cost about 1200 dollars. Can the pockets be fixed, maybe by reshaping the cushions ? I don't know if they can do that though...

Whats the cushion height? Being in Romania, this thing looks more like a knockoff of a russian pyramid table.

it almost looks like a pool table converted to a snooker table ....i agree that the cushion nose height would be helpful ...because maybe you are supposed to be playing with snooker sized balls here.

The height from the playing surface to the edge of the cushion is about 35mm which means about 1.3 inches. I read somewhere that the cushion height is supposed to be 2/3 of the diameter of the balls so it's about right.

I don't think it's a pyramid table, though I've never seen one. I know you guys think russian pyramid is played in former soviet countries, but not around here. There aren't really any variations of pool being played here, only eight ball. Most people haven't even heard of nine ball...
