How much can you afford to spend, and what size table do have?

The cost of material should not matter, on a home table the cloth will last years. I would not get something I didn't want just to save an initial $75 or a $100. Don't cheat yourself, get what you want, it isn't that much more. Amortized over the life of the cloth and hours of play you will get, it is really nothing.

I have Simonis 860 ($125) on my Gold Crown and Championship Mercury Ultra ($75) on my Valley bar box because that's what is used on the league tables.

Sure you can tell the difference in between the two but not sure if its a $50-$100 difference. They both play the same-fast- and if the table is just the slightest bit off, you will notice.

Everyone will tell you to get Simonis, as it is the best cloth available, but be sure to shop around, some places want a arm and a leg for it. There's deals out there if you look for it.

No matter what cloth you pick, steer clear of the padded backing type.
