Question: Could you be awarded multiple free shots in blackball?

I was playtesting Snookerpool (https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/snookerpool.545224/) and came across a situation where my opponent gained 2 free shots. The free shots in Snookerpool were adapted from the free shot rule of blackball. So I wanted to clarify what happens.
Would such a situation even be possible under the WPA rules of blackball?
What happens if the opponent commits a penalty (rule violation that doesn't affect the order of play) during a free shot?

NOTE: Since this question is no longer relevant to Snookerpool, this thread is no longer being watched.

Two free shots under blackball rules is a thing I haven't heard of. I can't imagine how you'd end up having a second free shot after taking your first one. Usually after your free shot is taken after an opponent's foul, you have one standard visit and that's it.

I am, of course, speaking with regards to English pool and not Snookerpool, so I'm not sure how the rules regarding free shots and subsequent visits would go with the latter.

The only time a free shot applies is because of a foul and the visit ends for the offending player, yes.

WEPF world rules has a similar free shot rule where you can play any ball, but this is only in the event of a foul snooker.

Snookerpool is a variant of snooker with simplified rules that can be played with pool equipment or snooker equipment. There is a link in the first post that will take you to the thread that talks about the game.

The free ball nonsense is a daft rule designed to overcome deficiencies in the two shots rule in English pool. "International Pool Rules" have moved back to ball in hand. They will soon replace "World Rules" and "Blackball" will be left behind.

At least the blackball foul rules don't cause any problems for the fairness of the game, like what tends to happen when snooker's foul and a miss rule is invoked. Also, the foul and a miss and free ball rules are reportedly poorly understood. That's why I adapted blackball's free shot rule for Snookerpool - to fix the game design problems with the current snooker ruleset for handling fouls.

Yes, I agree that something akin to the free ball rule would be better than the miss rule in snooker.

After realizing that the free shot rule slowed Snookerpool down a bit, I decided to just go with a good-old-fashioned ball-in-hand anywhere on the table after a foul to speed things up. Now the game is finished, save for maybe changes in the way penalty values are calculated.
