I have a Mc Dermott Brek Jump cue, today the thread in the shaft broke, so now i like to know is there a insert available that has a 3/8x10 inside ? Or do i have to buy a new shaft ?

if anybody knows if this is a warranty case let me know also please.

Yes, I would think that this would be covered by McDs warranty.
If the cost of shipping is more than having a phenolic insert installed, I would consider the phenolic insert.

If the main body of the shaft is still intact then a phenolic insert can be installed then drilled & tapped for the 3/8x10 thread. It has become a common practice that is gaining much popularity.
I personally feel that on a playing cue, this greatly enhances the hit of the cue. My clients agree.

I know in your case we're talking about a break cue but the other benefit of the phenolic insert is that the threads will last a life-time.

There is no warranty, unless you paid the fee & registered the cue at the time of purchase. Did you do that?...JER

The best thing to start with would be to contact Mc Dermott cues to see if this is covered under their warranty. (262-251-4090) They may ask you to provide the sales receipt with the cue.
As far as repairing yes it can be done and as KJ stated the phenolic insert is the way to go. I use ivorine-3 and ivorine-4 for my inserts for this type of repair.
