4. Any reason you can't use a jump cue with a softer tip for shots more toward the middle of the table where light fixtures may get in the way?

CharlieHustle said:Okinawa77, the reason I thought a softer tip would be best is that it would have more grab on the ball. I've tried the masse with a phenolic tip without success because it just seems to glance right off the ball like a rock. I would think the softer the tip the better, no? Thanks.

You can also perform jump/masse shots with break/jump cues that have phenolic or harder tips.

Have a great holidayCharlieHustle said:Hey Charlie, here some reason's why I have separate posts for these four questions.
1. Four questions posted separately get more attention per question compared to just one post.
Maybe, or all 4 could have easily been asked in 1 question. Such as..."What type of cue, tip, and weight produce the best masse shot?"
2. Some people are lazy or just don't have the time to go thru all the questions they see in one post so they answer none of them.
Most people dont want to open 4 different threads, pretty much asking the same thing.
3. Some people feel that if they can't answer all 4 questions they won't answer any.
Um ok.
4. Others think, this guy is asking too many questions, screw it.
Thats exactly what I thought when I saw 4 different threads.![]()
But whatever you do in life, I guarantee you you're not going to please everyone. If you do, somethings wrong.
