Question for mechanics

Hi i have a GC3. Glen recomended Jack Zimmerman and he extended the sub rails and did all the rail work for phenomenal 1pkt play.Really good guy to work with great work.
That being said I am looking to put on new artemis cushions and new rail cloth. I cannot find anyone around the CT MA line springfield mass area that seems to know what there doing. I got a quote of $1920 just for labor. A quote of 350 for labor, that guy was always too busy to come after 3 months of waiting. The rails are off the table. All I need it there new cushions glued on and covered. I will even install them myself as I am the one who does the bed cloth. Any recomendations for mechanics. I would even bring the rails to someone. I just want it done right to the same level jack did it when he extended my sub rails and the installers I have talked to seem to specialize in home tables where close enough is good enough. That's a quote from talking to one of them. Any advice suggestions from a mechanic
 
Good question and maybe thats where this is heading. I was trying to save the 170 shipping both ways and not have the tabke down for the extended time while in transit. However that is the option I am leaning towards I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone else had any ideas

I gotta say, if you are replacing the rubber I'd send them back, Jack no doubt got the angles he/you wanted with his setup, unlikely someone you find will do the same.

I understand not wanting to waste money but honestly $340 shipping would probably be preferable to getting left with hack work that will frustrate you to no end.

Yea you are probably right about that. I guess consensus is send them back to jack if im looking for the table to play 100 percent. After 500 dollar cushions and new 860hr I guess its not time to cheap out and get a mechanic who says close enough is good enough. Its extremely hard to find a mechanic in this area that is not only a mechanic but a player who understands the nuances of how a table plays and very few are on the level of RKC or jack.

From my experience(s)....whoever will do a tournament grade professional job that you will love.... Pay them their price and thank them. (Not 1920/350)...My .02...if you are talented enough to cover the rails you have the talent to replace the cushions. Don't be afraid of them.... it'll be a good learning experience.
Edit...I had rails removed for cushion replacement at the mech's shop. 2 weeks became 4 and so on.

I ended up doing all my table work because all our local hacks are just that, hacks. Even the people that installed my diamond were hacks. I'm not overly picky but I know what perfect is, I expect 95% of that from an installer or I'm doing it myself. It's worth paying good mechanics such as Jack because it's not an easy job and detail oriented/nitpicky installers are tough to find. If you're in a large area it pays to check references and such, but if you're in a pool desert like many players you just can't find a good mechanic locally.
