Question for NAPA players

A napa league is starting in my area next month. I have joined a team. This league has a much bigger range of rating levels. Higher rated players have to win more games. My question, how much longer do these matches last? Most tap or apa matches around here last from around 7 to 11. Some will go a little longer. Will this new format go on until 12 or 1 am or later?
How have your matches gone in terms of time? I like the format. I am just concerned about the time. I cannot warm up at 7 then sit for 3 or 4 hours and then get to shoot.
Please do not start bashing leagues. I just want to know how the napa matches have gone in terms of time.

In my area, we play 3 matches a night. We start at 6:30 and are usually done by 9 or 9:30.

I think NAPA goes quicker because people don't gain anything by running up innings... we don't even record them. :) Also, if you're playing 9 or 10 ball, you're not playing "ball count"; whoever legally pockets the game ball wins. :)

Thanks. We are playing 8 ball. I thought it was 5 matches. We can carry 8 players just li,e other leagues. If we play only 3 then keeping 8 on the team is excessive..

Match times will vary based on how high the handicaps are in your area and what the races are. Typically, 30 mins to an hour per match. As with most areas, the higher skilled players usually play faster than the lower skilled, despite the longer races. In a five match format, you're probably realistically looking at between 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours. This can be accelerated if you have more than one table available, or quick shutouts from time to time.

I believe that other Napa divisions do the 5 match/8 man format. We are pretty small, so have 5 man teams and three matches per night.

I'm in UPA and we too handicap on the wire. 5 matches per night. Typically we start w/ 1 table, then get 2 afterwards. It avg's 3 to 3.5 hours.

Getting 2 tables is a HUGE timesaver.

Good luck!

We start about 7:30 and are usually done by 10:00. We play. 3 matches a night and carry a roster of 5 players.

i play on 2 napa leagues.

one has 5 matches a night and the other has 4 matches. both only average 3.5 to 4 hours. the 4 match league has several lower level players in it so those 4 matches last about as long as my 5 match league lol.

Expidite Matches

We play 2 nights a week of 5-8 man team in TAP. We start at 6:45 and end before 10:30 - 11PM most of the time, Mobile apps have reduced match times by 10-15 min on average which helps too.
