AccuFast is not really a true K66 profile. IT's shorter.
No canvass backing and no air "groove" in the back.
It is the fastest of all cushions I believe.
It's prolly the only one that is pure 100% rubber.
Prolly the only one made in the US anymore.
Cushions now a days are mostly made in Asia and of low quality.
They get hard fast, including Brunswick's Superspeed which is a K55 profile.
I thought having Accufast installed on my GCII. Eventually went for Artemis.
I heard Connelly's new Vulcan cushions are pretty sporty too.

I have a new Cannon table (bought from a pool & spa place) It was a floor model. I made a cash offer and got a good deal.
The rails have several dead spots. I figured since I must get it fixed, I might as well get good rails while I'm at it. I'm getting accufast cushions and Grey simonis 860 cloth installed on it next month. Here's a pic: The current cloth color is Olive.

I keep seeing people state that superspeed gets hard quick.. could someone elaborate on this a little? what is quick? How Long? Nice table by the way..
The rubber may be fine...
Hal...It may or may not be the cushions themselves. Dead spots on the rails can be caused simply by having the glue holding the rubber on the wood, break loose (usually from abuse).
You may be able to just push hard on the inside edge of the cushion (the side glued to the wood), all the way down the rail, and check every inch or so. If the rail "gives", you know it's just broken loose. If you want to take the cloth off of the rails, you can easily see if some spots have come loose, and then glue them back in place, without having to detach the whole piece of cushion rubber. BTW, this could be on the top edge of the rubber, or on the bottom, so you have to look carefully. If the rubber is not loose, but has gotten hard, you'll need to replace the rubber on the entire length of cushion. Looking at your table, especially since it was a "floor model", I would guess someone has probably been sitting on the cushions, which is a major reason for them delaminating from the wood. I have just purchased an old Brunswick (Regina) Before I have the table set up I too want to replace the rubber. With this being an older table does anyone know what type of rubber I should decide on? I bought this table because it was such a good deal, eventhough I had my heart set on a Diamond Pro. So needless to say I want this table to play as well as possible, it is not a "show piece".
I have know clue what the old dimensions of the monarch rubber are, and am in the air between Super Speeds, and Artemis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't get it. I don't think you can interchange the different cushion profiles with out changing the dimesions of the table. I think the K-66 is is 1 1/8" wide and the K-55 is 1 1/4" wide. Wouldn't that mean you are changing the playing surface of a 9' table by 1/4"? Instead of 50" X 100", you would have 49 3/4" x 99 3/4". The diamonds are then off. Also the heights of the cushions are different, woudn't that make a difference? The AccuFast have even smaller dimensions. I think you have to replace cushions with the same profile the the table maker put on at the factory. I have a National Billiard Table and it has Bruswick super speed cushions on it. That means when I have to replace the cushions I have to put K-55 cushions on it. That is what Bruswick cushions are. Does any one know the answer to this?

Yes, you should use the original profile that came with the table. However I have replaced several sets of superspeeds with k-66s including my own table. The profile is the same except the k-66 is slightly thinner so the table size gets bigger by 3/16 to 1/4 in or so, barely noticable. The height doesnt matter when you go k55 to k66 but you cant go k66 to k55 unless theres room on the rail to accept it.
Yes all of the name brand cushions are better than a standard k66 that anyone can buy for 40$ a set, but by how much and is that little bit worth the extra cost is up to you. I would pay the extra money if you plan on keeping the table for a long time, if you see yourself with another table someday then the standard k66s will be fine. Check the rail bolts to see if they loosened up too.
