question for the cue guys...

i have a custom Rick Howard that i play with and was offered a bit more than what i paid for it, so my question is this... what would you think this cue would be worth??? it had 2 shafts, made out of Birdseye mable with cocobolo inlays... 6 points with 18 inlays in the handle and 6 more points in the butt plate... i know the price of the cue is whatever someone is willing to pay but it just peaked my interest a bit when someone offered to buy it... anyway thanks in advance and here's the pic.

by the way... the pic was taken from the front page of Ricks website... its the only pictures i could find of it since im at work right now.

If you got offered more than you paid you better take the cash... Not because your making a profit but because I have a good idea what he would charge for this cue and what it would sell for on the market. No disrespect to him. His cues do play great. Just take your profit.

Oh yeah, Then if you need a cue after that I have two really nice Schon cues and I'll cut you a sweet deal on one of them.

well he gave me a pretty good price on the cue (i will PM you what i paid for it) and im getting almost double what i paid for it...

and thanks for the offer on the schon's but i just cant seem to enjoy playing with a steel jointed cue.

If you can double your money on ANY cue write it down and remember it. Doesn't happen often unless you are selling $98.00 cues.

On the other hand if you love the way the cue plays keep it because at some point the money will be gone and you will say to yourself "I wish I had that Howard back"

Me, I am selling the cue, quick. :D

Exactly.... Plus we both know Rick as he lives basically in our town.. Easy to get another..
 
lol... yea ive already had the conversation with Rick yesterday... i wanted him to build me the exact same cue except ebony (instead of birdseye) and alternating ivory and Snakewood inlays... i think that would be a great looking cue.
 
That's a beautiful cue! If you are getting double what you paid, I would seriously consider selling it too. If there is no personal attachment to the cue and it's just that to you, a cue in your collection, the offer may not come along again for a long time. Perhaps invest the profit into another cue that later on you could sell for profit again.

I was offered 3x the price I paid for my custom Joss sneaky once(cash handed to me) and could not give it up. The price I paid for it new I could never get again for that price and I reallllly love the cue. After this offer, I put it away to never be played with again. And it's just a Joss, nothing as beautiful as your cue here.

thanks for the kind words... there are no personal attachments to the cue as ive only had it for a few short months, so its sold as soon as the cash is in hand. lol... just wondering what everyone priced it at to be honest with you.

He lives near you and Rick makes jam-up rods but whats the odds you get another one that plays as good as the one you have? Just think about it unless you need the cheese...
 
well im keeping the shaft that i play with if i do sell the cue... i have 2 brand new shafts that have never hit a ball that will be sold with this cue... but im sure there will be some adjustment to the new cue if i get one... but for the amount he offered, i think i would be foolish to not sell sell sell...

but i DO see your point.
