Yesterday I went to Charleston, S.C. with a couple of friends looking for action. Found a little and ended up playing at a wonderful place called Tuckers billiard supply. The place is heaven. Not like heaven, but heaven. Three 9 foot tables, one Valley barbox, one 6 foot furniture table, and a 10foot snooker table. Mr. Tucker himself was present and I couldn't speak anymore highly of a human being. A real wondeful person to meet and extremely hospitable. One of the 9 foots he has is a 1936 Brunswick Liberty. The pockets on it are quite big and the table plays pretty good. My question is, back in the day (40's, 50's, 60's), did they shim pockets? I know it's a stupid question. I just never heard of such. Meaning I've heard alot of stories just never "the pockets were super tight" or something like that. If you're ever coming through Charleston, be sure to look up Tuckers billiard supply.
