I have an ultraskin tip which hasn't been compressed at all. How does this affect the hit? Not getting the feedback I would like, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
I think this is the first time I have heard someone complain about a tip not compressing...
Imagine that, buying a tip, and it holding true to form
I use only Ultraskins but I prefer the HH, as I like a very hard tip
It is a medium tip, the feedback is next to none. I do not have SVB's stroke but drawing the cue ball a table's length has never been an issue. I can't get anything out of the cue ball with this tip.
sounds like either a bad install, or you got a fluke bad tip (every company has a small percentage of "bad ones")
But I give you my word, they are quality tips, and don't let this sway you away from them

How tall is the tip left on your cue? Can you flex it back and forth gently using your thumb and index fingers?
Don't blame the tip.................

Have to disagree with you on this, as this statement is a 'blind' comment, IMO. It is possible to have a bad tip, not that the brand is bad, just simply, a bad tip. Or even just a bad install. I have had 3 bad Ultra skins, 2 delaminated, and another was mush compared to the fact it was a medium. Changed them with the same hardness Ultra Skins and all was well. It's ok to be supportive of a brand, but don't blindly blame the person based on your own bias.
