Question/suggestion For Wei

Wei, is it possible to fix your table so it doesn't jump to the advertiser's web page when I click in the middle of the table? It's very annoying when I've spent a long time setting up a layout, and then I lose all my work because I'm inadvertently jumped to another web page - and hitting the Back arrow won't return me to the layout.

Maybe you could make it open another window rather than jumping away from CueTable.com?

Does this happen to anybody else?

That won't work. The ads come up in the center of the CueTable and if you accidentally click it, it takes you away from the page.

Pat, I think if you go into your browser settings, you can change your preferences to where it opens up all links in a "new window". That should keep you from losing your layouts. I've had that happen to me many times before and it is really annoying.

This is what I do in Firefox. So when I inadvertently click on the ad, it opens another page. The ads are a necessary evil IMO, in order to keep it free for us.
 
It does happen to me, and yes... it is an incredible pain in the A.
Worth it, and I'm a little more careful when clicking... but still a pain.

I think it's a wonderful suggestion to open the ad in a new window or a new tab when it's clicked on.

I don't want to change the settings in firefox because I don't like having a bunch of tabs open, or a bunch of windows for that matter.

For what it's worth it'll only open one new window. By doing this, it keeps your cue table layout intact.

Right, I understand that.
But it'll open 1 new window for every link I click on in every web page... ever.

I could be wrong on that though, I haven't tested... just guessing.

Yeah, I can set IE to open everything I click in a new window, but I'd rather not. Everything else I click on purpose, so I can right-click and get a list of options (new window, new tab, etc.). This is the only thing I regularly click by accident...

The Wei table is definitely worth this annoyance (yay Wei!) and I don't mind the ads on the table at all, but I thought I'd ask in case it's an easy fix.

It also has some pretty neat add-ons available. "Image Zoom" is one of my favorites. It lets you enlarge/reduce a picture size to look at it better, etc.

I think you are right. The only options I see are to "open in a new window" or to "open in a new tab". I didn't see where there was an option to keep in in the same window. Something for the open source guys I guess. I never really payed much attention to it to notice it opened a new window each time.

Maybe a suggestion for Wei is to make the links on his page open into a new window. Then it would only affect that site in your browser.
