I agree. I would much rather see the ball on its path to the pocket instead of the gopher's eye view of the ball rolling into the pocket.THE SILENCER said:they both SUCK!!
The Silencer is dead on. While all mainstream sports receive excellent coverage on tv, pool suffers from the total lack of knowledge of the game by ALL involved in its production, with the exception of some of the pros that add commentary. The folks who produce football, baseball, hockey, b-ball, soccer, etc, have expertise in every aspect of the games, and production values are such that the fans can better enjoy the games on tv than in person. About pool, they know NOTHING!! At the pro level, that a player will make most shots is almost a given, yet the camera will zoom in and follow the object ball into the pocket while the cueball is still moving. This has not changed for the 40 or so years pool has had any tv coverage. The best pool I have seen on tv was not pool, but snooker, produced by the Brits, of course. Wake up, ESPN. I love that pool gets air time, but get some production people who have an idea of what the game is about, and maybe the casual observer might begin to understand the beauty of the game, and the die hard fan will not tune it out.THE SILENCER said:they both SUCK!!
