Questionable BCAPL Sanctioning Going on in Wisconsin?

I really do not understand what the WSPA has to do with BCAPL state tournament requirements. As far as changing the location of the state tournament our state tournament has been held at a variety of locations all in different cities over the years. Those of us who are WSPA members have known for quite some time exactly where and when the 2015 WSPA state tournament would be held. It is quite possible that you are privy to information in which I am not aware of. I can only report on what information is available to us as WSPA members.
mikepage had commented on the state of pool sanctioning in Wisconsin and it not being the best thing for the game. I personally do not know yet whether we are better off being BCAPL or WSPA sanctioned. What I do know is to me the $15.00 it costs to be BCAPL sanctioned is just not a big deal. Some people apparently think that is a lot of money for a yearly sanction fee yet they have no problem with a $40.00 bar tab for 1 night of pool or spending $27.00 for 1 cube of chalk, but i can see the logic in that knowing how much better you can pocket balls with $27.00 cubes of chalk.
Personally I would prefer to pay both sanction fees if necessary as with the BCAPL I have the option of going to Vegas for the BCAPL tournament or even neighboring states like Iowa, Minnesota, or Illinois to play in their state BCAPL tournaments if I am correct. All I do know for sure is that if I was to continue playing in the leagues that I had been in previous years I had no choice but to become WSPA sanctioned. I do not see how dividing the states pool players into "associated" (competing) sanctioning bodies is a step forward for Wisconsin.

I Totally agree......Fond du Lac Wi.

See post #16. Thanks.

i reread post 16, and ....oh man i feel a long winded post arising here .:D

i recall when mark griffin announced on here that you were joining csi. i dont remember in what exact capacity though. it seems apparent that when you post on here you are in essence a spokes person for csi. as a spokes person you should be fluent in public relations.

far be it from me to tell you how to do your job but one of the duties in public relations is to diffuse volatile situations with customers ...or would be customers.

i grant you labrat kinda went overboard with his harsh comments in post 1. being a spokes person and realizing good public relations falls under your job responsibilities you should realize when some one gets irate their head is not full of sugar and spice and every thing nice. that person is going to come out with both guns blazing wanting to know what the hell is going on.

personally attacking that person is not the proper way to maintain good public relations. after some one posted more info in post 92 labrat changed his tune some what in posts 93 and 96. he is more receptive to what is going on in wis.

i do commend you and mark both for being members of this forum whereas representatives of other leagues are absent on here.

one thing you have to accept on this forum ...not only are you gonna get a bunch of atta boys when you do things right....you are gonna get a lot of ...aw shit when things go wrong within your organization.

i have always been a person to call a ace an ace and a spade a spade whether i like you or not.

i play apa and napa. i have said both good things and bad things about both leagues on here.

i used to play bcapl here before it folded .. actually it was the 1st league i joined. i would be interested in playing it again if it ever became available here again.

if i played bcapl again and came on here praising it...it would be fine and dandy if you came on here tooting your horn.

if i came on here and said some thing negative and you came on here personally attacking me and challenging me to a debate...well you would lose a customer so fast it would make your head spin.

Here's a great example of what is going on in WI. West Bend Wi League sanctioned for the State tournament this weekend. 3 person teams, 4 matches (one after another) it took less than 4 hours to qualify for the state tournament. They were playing ball in hand after every missed shot to speed things up. Is this promoting League play?

Can the rest of the BCAPL players qualify for their state tournaments this way too?
