Questions about English

Thank you much Dr. Dave. I've made some edits and you may want to check to see if I've blown it.
That sounds better (per PJ's comment). I've updated my posting also.

(Still looking forward to delving into the new material which you've been adding over the last few months to your website...it just seems to be one thing after another that gets in the way lately.)
I look forward to any comments or concerns you might have.

Regards,
Dave

Just an opinion but for us every day joes who play decent but not pro like I would not worry so much about english. When you are shooting try the mindset of it doesn't matter if you don't miss. I see a lot of people miss because they are trying to get perfect shape (myself included) by using funky spin on the ball or for some other reason. When you do miss then look to see is it because of this, or did you miss the shot for some other reason? If you find yourself missing because you are leaving yourself really tough on a lot of shots, ok now switch and focus more on getting the better shape on the next shot. Hopefully you can then find a balance between the two. Confidence in your stroke is big too, if you are confident on your shot making ability you won't be forced to play perfect shape using lots of english for postion on every shot.

Nitpick: this is the case for outside english, but for inside english the opposite is true.

Where you been, Jim?

So true Patrick. Thanks and I did make the necessary qualification earlier. Please let me know, if you want to take the time, if anything else needs correcting.

I've been repairing a neighbor's computer which required learning more about Microsoft's, shall we say, methodology. My five active neurons are not well suited to deciphering their object-oriented descriptions and design logic - if there is any - but his machine seems to be functioning nevertheless. Appreciate your asking.
