Questions on a re rail & recover

I have a Gandy 9'
Going to add extended rails. What's best k55 or k66?
When replacing the feather strips. What's best rubber or wood?

I've never recovered with extended rails so what
material do I use behind the extension?
What's the best size facing?

I use velocity cloth & really like the way I did on on my recover & rails last time but I know there is always room for improvement.

Any help & advice would be much appreciated.
