how hard to start one?? being pool is not so popular with young kids or even older people in the state that i am in MT for thoes that would like to know.

how much money to start small pool hall? lets say 3, 9 footers and and a couple of bar boxes, say 3 as well? i would buy building so thoes numbs should give a good idea of building size for people that know about this stuff.

i know beer licens will be a bit depending on were the hall is. but what is a avg. price? it would have bar and hopefully a kitchen nothing huge but enough for burgers and pizza.

and last how do we get people back into pool? and if you own a place how have you gotten people back into playing the great game of the world?

This is all just a thought at the moment but, befor it can be anything it has to be a thought, and i like to get as much info as i can if i could make something like this happen.

I took culinary arts in college along with an extra year to get a business side of it to. that i can handle that kind of thing.. but all input is good input.

You need a population.... where in Montana are you thinking? With only 6 tables [3 and 3] you might have a rough go of it. It would be tough for tournaments with only 3 big or small tables and you would be limited in table time revenue if people are coming in mainly in a tight time slots.

Depending on where you are in Montana......
4 - 9 foot Gold Crowns
6 - 7 foot Valleys
Beer/Wine license
Casino license
Poker table

I would really encourage retireees to come in during the day with discounts/memberships/senior tournaments to get people in. In the late afternoon/early evening you can cater to the 30-60 year olds with menu specials and such. Depending on the location, it can be pretty tough to get good food variety so that can be a big draw. Later evening you should be able to get the normal crowd and recruit players. I would also get involved with the schools of the area........

Montana needs more decent pool facilities. I would definitely say that the gambling machines are a must and a poker table if you can get a license. Tournaments are big events in a lot of places in the State so the 6 bar tables would allow you to host nice tournaments.

thanks for the info. the place that i am thinking i would have it is in helena MT.. good pop and there is not a single pool hall in helena.
