I'm not criticizing anyone here. I just have a few questions I'd like to ask about the just held 14.1 event in Jacksonville. Didn't I read that it was a 46 man invitational? How can you work that number down to 16 for a redraw? How much was the entry fee? I've done scores of tournaments and the math here just doesn't add up. Help!!
Frank Hernandez gave me his business card at the trade show but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know his phone number? Thanks,
Grady

14.1 is a yankee game.you are now living in the south.u need to boycott the yankee game.you need to stop talking about 14.1 and charlie Williams who promotes that yankee game.

Grady, you need to give it up just to protect your sanity.

Nice transparent attempt at trying to bash Charlie.

This is trying to start a flame war.

Jeez!!!!

What is the matter with you people? I said not a word about Charlie Williams or the UPA. I just wanted to know how that 14.1 event was handled.
If I had been angry, I would have asked why didn't I get an invite. I only live 4 hours away.If anyone asked similar questions about any of my events I would gladly answer.
Seriously, what's wrong with you nuts?

Get over Grady! 14.1 is a yankee game.We don`t play that game in the South.

This TD against TD and tour against tour is really getting a bit old on here. And you wonder why pool can't get out of the gutter. You need a score card on here to keep track of who's trying to screw who this week w/o a kiss. Johnnyt

DITTO!!!!! im taking up marithon racing!!!!!

they used a 64 player d.e. chart with 16 seeded that got byes, rest playing first round. When they had 8 on winners and 8 in losers, they did a redraw according to their standings and performance throughout the tournament. So the 8 in winners wouldn't face each other in the 1st s.e. round.
Admission was, I think, $10 per person per session, 2 sessions a day, am and pm. Players had one guest free, with no seating for the guest.
Grady, can you pm me a number to reach you? I need to ask you bunch o'stuff. I'm Han from Russia, you e-mailed me your no before I guess I lost it.

Grady asked a simple question! Is there any chance that someone could give him a simple answer, rather than editorializing???

Grady, your post seems coherent and nonconfrontational. Wish I could give you a straight answer instead of flaming you like the others in this thread. Vagabond-you're really smart. Keep up the good work of getting 14.1 ousted from the South.

Wish these fools would just answer a question instead of taking a simple question as criticism.

A simple question would have been anyone have his phone#. Not the rest of the questions he asked on the Internet. Johnnyt

i agree with Grady he asked questions its possible to ask questions and not start a war, isnt it? everyone is a bit nervious

I think Grady asked a very important question here! Taking jabs at the man is childish, not to mention the "northern" ? term as to who should like 14.1 or not is just lame at best!

I bet that guy still uses the term........"northern aggression"....:D

good ,honest questions-

John(400) Schmidt loves straight pool .( How much can we learn from Johnny,LOTS) Mosconi played straight pool, Luther lassiter played straight pool(ran 150-out) (and ran 15 racks of 9-ball). Joe Balsis loved straight pool. Steve Mizerak loved straightpool. straight pool teaches offense and one pocket teaches safety's and billiards teaches you cue ball control. I met grady 15-20 yrs ago he was a very good influence then And I think he is now! At the Derby last yr. he played well but lost. There were a minumim of 50 people watching his match, against Efren and they weren't rooting for efren. Grady remember nowbody can make you feel anything!!!!!!! Hope your bussiness is going well! I watched grady try 2 times to run a couple hundred balls just practicing-he ran 125 back to back!! mark

Yes, admission was $10 for standing room...per session, so $20 per day.

$20/40 for seats...BUT the seats were specific, numbered seats in a curtained off area that had about 8 tables...so, if the particular match you wanted to watch was on the other side of the room, you had to go stand up.

They should adopt the DCC format where you pay for close in seating but can take any available seat. The way they did it was silly.

And there was a LOT of b!tching that people who had paid $100-200 for multiple event entries had to pay to watch the pro matches...unlike DCC where if you entered any of their events, you get standing room for all the events.

Otherwise, I don't have a dog in this hunt re: this thread other than to say that this is a public forum and any fair question is fair game IMHO.

I didn't interpret Grady's question as being bashing but if it was, does anyone think that Apple misses any opportunities to bash Microsoft and vice versa? Or any other competitors for that matter?

Does anyone think that Ford brags about how good Toyotas are?

So either way...big deal. Who cares? And if that was bashing, Grady gets the 5 out from a REAL basher!!!

How much was the admission?
FYI. General Admission was $10.00. Seated Admission $20.00 (42 seats available). Both were per session (11:00am - 6:00mp and 6:00pm - 1:00am). A discount was given to anyone wanting to purchase seating for all sessions (several people did). All junior players were allowed general admission for free.

Hey, I Didn't Say That I Would Be RIGHT

I'll take a crack at it.
I believe that it was a 48 man field and two players were forfeited/disqualified out. I don't even see Corey Deuel's name anywhere on the chart (anymore).

(i haven't had my morning coffee with Jack Daniels yet, so I'm probably wrong..... as usual)
