Quick Change Tool Posts - Steel Construction - Interest?

Here's a dumb question. What is the advantage/pro of this setup vs.A2Z one? Does steel construction make a difference or it it bigger bolt to tie down it down?

Also what is required for "pre-order"? I'm interested the whole setup including quick-release lever (ratchet or something different).

Still waiting on some parts that I am not machining myself :sorry:

The a2z post have the problem of twisting under pressure and are less wear resistant. My post will have a slightly better wedge to clamp your holders as well.
I will make another thread for the actual preorder soon with all pricing and options later on tonight.

Pics of the first pieces fresh from machining. Other pieces still not finished yet.

Final product from the Machinist with wedges installed.

When they arrive back here, I am considering having them black oxide coated. I am not sure though as the company over here in St. Louis is taking their time giving me a quote. :sorry:

I am in the process of making steel tool post similar to the A2Z tool post. These are 4-5 weeks out at least. Before I start making them, I would like to probe for interest. Also, would anyone be interested in doing a preorder? I would only be making a few to start. These will accept the A2z tool holders as well as mine. I will be developing new holders as well for specific jobs.

Cost would run about $120.00. These would be steel construction for all the main parts. The wedge blocks would be of aluminum. They will fit the hightower lathe and can easily be adapted to other lathes as well. If you own an A2z tool post, you can easily compare in size. These will be roughly 1/4" taller than the A2z. The stud in the center of the post will be larger to prevent twist.

That looks bad ass, great job on this
I love it.
Will there be any anti rust coating applied on the finished product?
Regards

Looks good! Can't wait to get mine........

I thought you were anodizing the post too?

I'd be interested in a set if it will fit my South Bend lathe.

If it is a mini lathe, it can be modified to fit. These post are smaller than the AXA Tool Post by Aloris and Import brands. Drilling the center spacer for a 10mm bolt will allow this post to be adapted to the 7x10 and 7x14 import lathes.

Most of machined parts are in hand. All that is needed is the base that it mounts too. Waiting on other people to grind those parts flat. Enjoy pics of the parts that I have on hand now. I am still accepting pre orders. 20 spots left.

Is everything your selling al a carte or are you going to offer a package deal for the post and the holders and the cutoff holder and blade? Thanks in advance for your reply.:)
