Crappy clientele. I'm not much for clowns trying to get me to play but only if I give them the nuts and shooting air barrels at that. I'm fortunate enough to have a decent room about 18 miles from my house but would love an upscale room closer by.

Besides bad equipment the only other thing that bothers me is the type of music and the loudness.

1. Would you like a new pool hall with competitive prices? Doesn't everyone.
2. Rate the quality of pool equipment in current pool halls. House cues and cleanliness 2
3. How important is the quality of pool equipment to you? (lights,
tables, seating, etc.) 5 Last time we complained about a light flickering we were told to fix it ourselves.
4. Rate the quality of service at current pool halls. Waitresses 4.5 on average, One Bartender -1, Manager 2.
5. How important is the quality of service to you? Very. That includes the owners.
6. Rate the prices for pool time at current pool halls. Fair when the senior discount applies.
7. How important are the prices for pool time to you? Very.
8. Rate the quality of the food at the current pool hall. Depends on what you order.
9. How important is the quality of the food to you? 4 but should not be overly priced. $8.00 hamburger platter seems high.
10. Would you play in an establishment that did NOT serve alcohol? Yes, never drink and drive but most want alcohol. Management should reserve the right to cut someone off.
11. Would you play in an establishment that allowed minors? Supervised yes, running wild no.
12. How important is the price of food and drinks to you? 3.5
13. Would you travel 5-10 miles to play pool? I would travel 20 each way.
14. Would you be interested in playing other games like poker/darts/foosball? No but it seems it's needed to keep business afloat.
If yes, which game?

15. Would you use an in-house Safe Ride to go home if not able to drive? Yes.
16. Would you like Leagues (BCA, VNEA, APA)? Yes, BCA.
17. Would you play in weekly and money added tournaments? Yes.
18. What is your main focus when choosing a pool hall? Being treated as a real pool player and a valued customer. Ideally a section where the music isn't blasting and foot traffic is restricted. A few VIP tables that don't get used by the bangers and are keep clean would be nice. I still remember when at least 1 table was for straight pool only and you had to earn the right to play on it.

19. What is the best thing about the current pool halls? Nothing. By that I mean pool players are not treated as valued customers. Where I play poker is king. Could be why tables are empty early and late.

20. What is the least desirable thing about the current pool halls? Loud music in the playing area. It's controlled by the staff, front counter to accommodate the bar and you guessed it, the poker players.

Discount prices for the times the house is normally empty. Outside smoking area.

18. Comfortable atmosphere, good tables and room enough to play.
19. Closest hall is the only game in town and it could be allot better. To me there is nothing really good about it except it's location. The real hall is 25 miles away but a pleasure to play in and it's not a bar so my son and I can play there. It's only downside is the location.
20. Many folks are just plain rude, loud for no apparent reason, have no table manners and are just plain stupid. Lack of proper spacing for all the tables. Owners ignore the equipment.

I play at McGoos in Tulsa, OK.

I like the equipment (Gold Crowns & Diamonds with good lighting)

The furniture is huge OAK Double Game Room chairs with beverage table between (not your cheezy $400 chair). I have played in Pool Rooms with Church Pews & that was great too (cushions would have been an added attraction)

I like having a place to hang my case or store it when playing.

McGoos has a great staff & serves the best food.

McGoos has several 8-Ball & 9-Ball leagues. We also have 8-Ball, 9-Ball & One-Pocket Tournaments, plus a Golf Game. McGoos also has Dominoes, Foosball & POKER

McGoos has great parking & security out there.

We have oodles of competition, every day of the week.

This is the place to be in NE Oklahoma.

Make your pool room like this & you'll be a great place too.

18. What is your main focus when choosing a pool hall? 9 foot tables and equipment which is well taken care of, relative safety of the area and table time in the $4-5 p/hour range at the most.

19. What is the best thing about the current pool halls? In my area: Quality of equipment, quality of players and range of tournaments (I live in North Carolina)

20. What is the least desirable thing about the current pool halls? #1 Owners who don't take care of their equipment (there is a hall I currently refuse to return to as every table in the house has loose rails), table time being too much (they can keep me on the table for 5 hours at $4 or less an hour and I'll stick around to have drinks, or they can have me on the table for 2 hours or less (mostly less) at $10 an hour and I most likely won't buy drinks.
