Quick Rack

I was playing a guy in town the other day from Florida and he showed me a game i had never seen before called quick rack. You have 4 stripes and 4 solids,and the 8 ball. Rack the like nine ball and after the break it becomes bca 8 ball with the exception if you make the 8 on the break you win. Anyone else ever play this? I thought it was a fun game to play, very fast.

Sounds quick, and easy... never played it... Seems like a good idea to keep things moving.

Sounds like a good game for C players who are ready to transition from 8-ball to 9-ball.

Sounds like a good fast game, but I don't like the rack sequence as not many stripes would fall on the break.

not new in my room ,as we play it and call it FAST EIGHT, played same as bca 8 ball!!!

We play it here also, but call it 8 ball express. It is more for speeding up the game thatn anything else. Also, we use Valley rules, so 8 on the break is not a win, and the rack should look more like this:

Solid
Stripe, Solid
Solid, 8ball, Stripe
Stripe, Solid
Stripe

This way there is less advantage on the break for either side.
