Welcome all posters!! When I first started posting here I would respond to a thread without using the quote button. I have found that if you will make use of the quote button on the post that inspired your to post, you will find that the thread makes a lot more sense.

We have all had someone respond to our threads without a "quote" being used. I have, and have seen others, take a response the wrong way simply because they are not aware of which post inspired the thought.

Use the "quote" button, It's great!

Fine but It is also nice if you edit the quote so that we do not need to scroll thru the hold post again sometimes over and over and sometimes with pictures inbeded. Sometimes if it is the following post it just ain't necessary. JMO

Good point....

If more than one person are responding at the same time, you have no idea in what order your response will fall. It could get directed to the wrong post. MO.

The single nicest feature I ever saw on any forum was simply 'view new posts'. If any mods read this, is that built into this version of vBulletin?

When it's available you just click one button and it brings back a results page that only features stuff you haven't read. Obviously there will be some results you don't want to read, but this is still by far the fastest and most efficient way to get what you want out of the forum.

edit: I also like the 'mark as read' option available not just on individual threads, but on entire forums and subforums.
