I like to see picture of the base of the points, were the wrap would be? If the whole cue is Birdseye maple, my vote is noooo wrap......

IMO, this cue is too unique and put a wrap on and to cover up all that nice wood, would be a crime.

Lol...well, you know I have a soft spot for a well crafted wrapless full splice cue.

Seriously, I'm with Bugs on this one, if the base of the points are nicely finished, I wouldn't spoil the beauty of the BEM by hiding it under a wrap...seems a shame, really. You just do not see all maple full splices everyday, and at the very least, not wrapless ones. I really like the veneer colors in this one as well. Out of curiousity, is this a Davis blank?

At any rate, another impressive job by Jerry! Really a nifty cue.

BTW...if you were to go with a leather wrap, I wouldn't go with a black wrap, but rather more of a color that is represented in the veneers...more earth-tone. The reasoning here being that I feel a black leather wrap would seem to 'fade' out the other veneer colors...you want to 'pop' the forearm. Just MHO.

Kinda hard to judge without seeing the whole butt. Quite a refreshing design. I was thinking that a nice smooth black wrap would go well with the cue. Maybe keep the points long to expose more maple.

-R- built that blank? The veneers seems to look uneven in terms of the thickness. Not intending to have joint rings? I though the ring work at the buttcap looks kind of odd.

Overall i think with or without wrap this cue is sweet. Can we see more?

THE VENEERS ARE DIFFERENT IN THICKNESS. I LIKE THAT LOOK. THE BLACKS ARE THINNER, AND ARE MORE OF AN ACCENT.

NO JOINT RINGS, I LIKE THE CLASSIC LOOK OF SOLID BLACK.

I'LL POST MORE PICS WHEN I GET THE CUE.

THE CUE WAS BUILT ON AN OLD HELMSTETTER BLANK, THAT WAS AWESOME. JERRY AGREED AS WELL, THAT IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST FULL SPLICE BLANKS THAT HE HAD SEEN. HERE ARE SOME FINISHED PICS, I'LL POST MORE WHEN THE CUE GETS HERE.
