Interesting. May I ask where did you get those numbers, not saying they are incorrect, just curious.

A great way to look at

In Germany there is an extremely strong 1st league where stone-cold-killers like Souquet, Feijen, Ortmann, Ouschan play. There they play 14.1 to 125 and keep track of ppi over a full season. Ortmann for instance scored 1102 points in 82 innings for 13.44ppi.

After further review the call is reversed. I humbly bow to your correctness AtLarge.

Did you watch it again? Were you on premises for the event? Unless you are the official scorekeeper, focused entirely on that, I think it would be rather difficult to keep score accurately on site because of all the distractions and conversations going on around you.

Anyway, it was fun watching a game to 350 points with guys of this caliber, even though they don't have a whole lot of experience with 14.1.

Nice to see the cool kids playing some straight pool. One pocket is the ultimate pinnacle of cool pool, of course, but I have to wonder how the landscape might change if straight pool came back into vogue.

For the better is my guess.

The regular guy/gal could relate to straight pool more than one pocket. Plus the entire country gets at least 2 balls better within 2 months playing straight pool. It's amazing how learning how to pocket balls and learning how to recognize patterns to play improves your game. Getting better is fun.
