Rack or Case?

Which is the better place to keep a cue? Or is there a way better than these two?

A case is considerably better. Racks expose cues to moisture and UV light, the 2 things that take their toll over time.

Stored in a case in a relatively dry, climate controlled environment is ideal for cues. Even a capped cardboard tube upright in a closet is good for cue storage.
