In the early knock out rounds which run at least 12 hr days for 3 dayzzzzzzzzzz. Try this.
Have the ref cover 8 tables, therefore you only need 4 referees.
With winner break format, have the loser rack the balls and then wave hand for ref to come over, give it a final inspection/correction and game on.
This way you could pay em properly, get MUCH better referees and it might speed up play.
Once the ref does a rack ck/final adjustment, breaker is NOT allowed to ck rack.
