Radial OB-1 f/s

Pin fit

Maybe you should ask this in the Cuemakers section, but from my experience I believe proper "Radial" pins as sold by Uniloc are usually interchangeable, but some cuemakers vary in the amount of the lead part of the pin they turn down and the material they are made of. I have seen some apparent copies of the design (EG Mezz "Wavy" joint) that I would assume would not be directly compatible.

I bought a generic OB-1 Radial for my Capone, and it is noticeable that the fit of the OB-1 is a bit less tight than the original Capone shafts. I believe this is due to some cue makers deliberately undersizing the tapped hole in the shaft to get a very tight fit rather than the pin itself being differently sized.

It was probably due to the fact that Uniloc made two different taps for the pin and did not tell cue makers about the change. One is smaller than the other thus giving a tighter (better) fit/ alignment. Unless the smaller tap is used the pin is no better than a standard 3/8-10 pin.
