The only two sources I have found for 3/8-8 stainless steel radial pins are Atlas and Schmelke cues. There is a HUGE difference in price between the two. Has anyone used the Schmelke radial pin ( Far less spendy)? The only difference I see is the Schmelke has a rounded nose is slightly shorter than the Atlas radial pin comparing stainless steel only. Anybody try the Schmelke pins out?? Also, Atlas radial taps come in two sizes and they are typical in design (I bought both sizes), however the Schmelke tap I received looks like an apple coring device, not what I would want to depend upon for any length of time. Anyone use Schmelke's radial tap?? Your comparisons or info would be greatly appreciated. Are there any other sources for radial pins out there that you are willing to share?? I am interested in buying 100-250 at a time if someone wanted to go in together and split an order to save some green.

I could be wrong but I don't think they are the same pin. The radial from Atlas, I beleive is the original radial at 7.5 threads and the one from Schmelke is the 8 thread.
Prathers also carries the 7.5 radial.

The Schmelke's are imports. Same as Varner's, Omega and Sledgehammers I think.
I have two of them and they are certainly not the same as Atlas/Uniloc.
I get my new ones from Tom.
 
I use the Schmelke radial on most of my lower end stuff: Diamond wood, plain Janes ect......I might even start using them instead of 3/8-10 in my B/J's.

They are not like the Uniloc Radial, but for the price works and feels pretty good. I can't remember off top of my head what drill bit I use to drill before I tap, but the tap works ok, call schmelke about the drill bits they'll tell you. Just say you needs some Tech... support with the tap.

In my experience the Stainless screw together tight "which is good imo", and the brass are snug not as tight as the stainless but prefered my me.
