Radial pin taps

I have two of the Atlas radial pin taps and one is clearly written on the side "Undersize". The problem I am having is the "normal" tap is too tight with a brass radial pin. Are the brass pins larger?
Thanks

Not typically. I have run into very slight variations, but not specific to any one type of material.
I've never seen one too large for the normal tap though. (or the undersize, for that matter.)

If your tapped hole is too tight with a brass pin, just put some past wax on the pin and screw it on and off a few times. You will be amazed at how it loosens things up.

Try it, you will be surprised!

Did you buy a tm Radial pin or is it a nockoff? There are a few non radial pins out there that are very tight with the regular tap.

Just curious. What is the advantage to the undersized tap. I didn't use radial pins for a long time. Last year I had an order for a cue with radial so I figured why the hell not offer them. So I bought 50 from Tom. Flat top radials. Now I knew there were issues from reading about knockoffs and different taps Ect. So I called atlas and the guy said don't even bother with the undersized just use the normal for all applications. So I just got the regular tap. It's plenty tight on the shaft end.

Nothing is worse then a shaft that is too tight when screwed on. I want to play pool not wrestle.

I don't know, they all came from Atlas.

Those would be the real deal. Atlas only carries the Uniloc Radial.

As stated, put a little cue wax in the shaft and work it in and out a few times. You want the connection to be tight. If its loose, you lose the benefit of the Radial pin. Conversely, you should not need a spotter to screw it together, after the first couple of times. There is a difference between tight and binding.

The only time I use the regular one is for installing joint pins .
The undersized one is used for shafts ALL the time here.
