I've set up an email account for the raffles that we're going to be having through out the yr.

We're asking any and all to get involved to make next yrs DCC experience even better. This board has a ton of people that have their own business or product, or book, etc. These things do not have to be pool related. If you've got an item that you think someone might be interested in and you would like to donate it, please let me know.

Right now I'm just trying to gather info on how many people have things they wish to donate and what those things are. Once I get an idea of what we're working with, I'll start the raffles.

Please send your info to Raffles2007DCC@aol.com. I know that Hal had mentioned donating some things and I believe Bud Green had a blue book. Remember, it doesn't have to be pool related. A lot of folks do arts & crafts to sell on ebay and craft shows... anything like that is also welcome. Whatever it may be, if you're willing to donate it so that we can raffle it off, please send me an email. It's easier with the email because I can save them and reference them quickly.

Thank you to everyone for your generosity and participation!

I'll bump this for the next day or so and then let it go since I have the info in my signature.

Tims,

Bob and I will donate misc items for the event next yr. I will donate 3 of Bob Burnes newest book and I will also send additional items with some attending players going down after the Windy City Open, next year. Hope this helps..

Thanks Eydie, that's very generous of you guys! You and Bob are constantly trying to promote the sport and helping to make it a fun experience. Ya'lls efforts are greatly appreciated by many. ;)

Shoot me an email to the new address with a list of things you're donating please. Thanks!

Also, depending on the size of the items, you can either bring them with you to VF and I'll take them or you can hang onto them and I'll send you the money for shipping when they're raffled off. Whichever works best for you. :)

If you don't mind...

Timberly,

Are monies being raised? And if so, what are the monies going for?

We're raising money for next yr's DCC room. This past DCC cost us $1000. Depending on which way we go with it this yr, it's going to be $1500 to $2000. The money that we collect over that will go to things like mini tournaments between members, pizza, and small things of the sort. Greg has asked us about possibly sponsoring an event... things being talked about are putting money towards the straight pool tournament fund, paying two players to play a match on the tv table....theres all kinds of things that we can do. Most of it will depend on how much money we raise. None of us is actually making any money off of this. All the money collected will go to the room and whatever we as a collective group decide to do as far as sponsorship of an event.

Okay, cool. I think I can donate something.

Awesome Barbara, thank you!

For the vendors that are on here that want to donate something, and will be at VF, I'll be more than happy to take the item(s) in VF. I only live 45 min from there so I can load everything up in my car & not have to worry about getting stuff into my luggage.

Question for you Timberly. Can someone enter the raffle without having to attend the DCC?

Absolutely! The raffles will be open to all AZ members and the raffles will take place here on the site. Monies will be sent to me (I'm opening up a seperate checking account for the DCC room). I'll start a thread listing all the people that I've recieved money from and numbers will be assigned. I like the way Mike did it with the raffle that I won... he listed everyones name and their numbers. Then he picked a pro basketball game that was going to be playing in the next few days and said that the score of the game would determine the winner.

I'll bring the books to SBE so that you have them. Other items will be last minute when I see what we get for Windy City Open, I will make sure I get extra for AZB.

Also, I know a really nice person who remain nameless who does a lot for this forum and for the players. This person needs a nice new case for his/her cues. If anyone is interested in donating a nice new case for this deserving person, please let me know at windycityopen@aol.com and I will give you the person's name. I would also be willing to barter or help pay for the case for this person, if anyone would like to step up and help me. They will be at SBE, so it would be nice to get it to him/her there.

Thanks so much!

 Wow, I REALLY have to drink less beer because if I said anything about a Blue Book recently, I don't remember. The only one I had I traded a year ago for some out-of-print matches of guys like Louis Roberts, Jack Colavita, Larry Liscotti.

I have some pool stuff I could donate to help you out though. Give me some details and some time and I'll send some stuff. I have no idea where to send it though; this is the first I've heard of the raffle.

LMAO, that's why it's important for people to send me an email with whatever it is they're going to donate. Sorry Bud!!

Bud, see my post to Barabara made earlier last night. It gives the details on what the raffles are for. LOL, please don't feel obligated because of my faux pas. Should you decide to donate something (doesn't have to be pool related) you can hang onto it until there is a winner and then I'll send you the money for shipping, or you can send it to me. Holding onto it is the cheaper way to do it but it's up to you. ;)

Hey Bud, it was Frankincali that mentioned the bluebook.... all you people out there on the left coast are one and the same. :p You know I'm kidding!

I found the thread. rackmsckr, Rodney, Frankincali, & Hal all said they had something to donate. Here's the link to the thread...

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=25008

It has a lot of posts with great idea's on what to do with the money raised.

I'll look through what I have and send you a message this next week, Timberly.

Usually I have to actually meet a girl before I become all confused and start giving her stuff :p

That's awesome Rodney, thanks! Take your time, we have all yr...just trying to get a jump start on it so that we can raise as much money as possible. I really like the idea of sponsoring an event. :)

Bud,
Rest easy, buddy. After you meet her you'll still want to give her stuff, she's a doll (just hope your wife doesn't find out).
