Rail Cushion Life ??

I do not think any one knows because there is really no good answer. fifty years ago cushion life could be fifty years. Then mnfrs started saving 
money and using alternative additives and fillers and we had supposedly high quality cushion going bad in a year or two.
As far as the icon cushion you are asking about, my only experience with it has been on connelly tables. Imo, the cushion appears to be of good quality and should last a reasonable life.Artemis cushion imo is some of the highest quality cushion made. Sorry we could not be of more help.

Thanks for the reply, but rubber seems to dry out and fifty years seems like a long time. There must be some baseline used to determine when rubber begins to deteriorate and the characteristics subtley change.
Fifty years is a long time but ask some people about the old monarch match cushion! We restore antique tables and i can tell you this stuff lasted forever! Olhausen accufast has a lifetime warranty on it and to my knowledge no one has seen a piece go bad yet. I definitely would bet artemis to easily go 30-40 years. Now, i have seen certain low quality cushion dry out when used too close to a heat source but have no effect on other brands.
While cushion is extremely important to the playability of a pool table it is a easily replaced and considered a wear item just like the tires on your car.
