Rainbow Pool Balls?

We are in the process of fixing up my dad's pool table for Christmas, new felt, bumpers and pockets. I also want to get him a new set of pool balls and came across Rainbow Pool Balls. They have some really cool looking sets, especially the pearlescent, but I'm having trouble finding reviews for them. I know they are made from a different type of resin than most pool balls, but no reviews. Does anybody have any experience with these pool balls?

Thanks for the help!

The web page for these balls says they are lighter than the normal specification for balls. This, along with the difference in materials, would steer me away from them for anyone who is an experienced player.

The WPBA used a set of highly figured balls once for a sponsor they had. The players complained of the 'feel' and of aiming problems with the balls.

I understand you are probably looking for something to "jazz up" your efforts, but I think an experienced player would welcome these balls with the same enthusiasm they might have for a spring-loaded cue. A bit too far afield.

Aramith is the market leader for a reason. No one I know of has ever been disappointed by being given a set of Aramith balls. Check around and you can get a set of Aramith Super Pro's for a very reasonable price.

I knew they were a different material but missed the part about being lighter, too bad they have some cool looking sets. I emailed the company and they say the resin they use is just a durable as the resin used to make most pool balls, but they do play different. Once I found that out I decided to go with a set of Aramith Super-Pro TV balls.

Thanks for the help.
