I sweated one of Ralf’s 10 ball matches in February in Vegas. His safety play and kicking out of safes was off the charts. Pretty good for an old guy. 😝

With ball in hand, just put the cue ball behind the 7, shoot it with enough draw to pull the cue ball back to break up the 8 and 9. A much better shot than playing safe. This ain't rocket science. What am I missing?

I feel the same way about Justin Rose in golf, and I'm not a golfer at all, guys like him in the hunt at the end is fun to was, as is Ralph.

he doesn't have ball in hand, and the draw breakup shot may not be there, and if it is there he may not wanna bump it and potentially hook himself. especially with bustie on the hill

classic matchup this btw. bustie lived in germany for many years so they have locked horns quite often

The first post BIH = ball in hand.

Can you with BIH make the 7 and break out the 8 and 9 where you actually have a shot.
Hitting the 9 in several different paths freezes you back on to it.

On that note you could do the Captain Hook thing and bank the 7 into the 8, 9 crotch. CB stays put, no kiss.
If you had to make the 7 or you just "needed" to close the set, you could easily draw for the 8 into the side or play shape to bank the 8.
You still got options for any landing on the 8.

Those German guys love doing the wagon wheel drill. I would bet Souquet gets out from there with BIH 8/10 times.

Unfortunately, we'll never actually know as Bustamante made a nice kick to avoid giving up BIH.

He did? That's my point about defensive irony. Take a couple basic shots and win, or flip a coin for a gift.

IF you got BIH there, you can easily hit the 9 and kill any momentum the CB has and freeze yourself to the 9. If you go the other way you can hit the 8, move it from the 9 and still get trapped with no shot.

Where are you banking the 8 to?
