Ralf Souquet - The Player

I have been wondering for some time now, just how many events that Ralf Souquet has won in his playing career? Is he close to the number that Efren has won?

I think he has surpassed all other European players, including Oliver Ortmann. Ralf is not only an excellent player and threat in every event he plays, but he is a gentleman and good sport, while still being fiercely competitive. Although he has a reserved manner about him, I think that young players could do a lot worse than to pattern themselves after Ralf.

Can everyone help me out to find out and list all the events that Ralf has won over the years? (and I am sure he probably came in 2nd and 3rd in many more).

Wow ....

Thanks Roy, I was impressed with Ralf before, but even more now.

Do the Junior events over there follow suit pretty much with our age groups for Juniors over here?

Ralf Souquet is one of our sport's ambassadors (just like John Scmidt and Shane Van Boeining) who are always friendly and open-hearted. I'm proud to have such an acquaintance like Ralf.
Many happy days and great shooting to this athlete, I wish he takes a World title again soon.

Ralf gets my vote for best 9-ball player this decade.

Even though he hasn't won the world 9-ball championship since 1996, he got second twice (2001 and 2006). He won the US open in 2002.

Perhaps most impressive is his record at DCC. Everyone talks about how much luck there is in 9-ball (myself included). And yet Ralf has won three out of the last five years, with a world class field and a short race to 7 format. That's an incredible feat, and testament to the consistency of his game.

Who beat him in the kindergarten championships?

He didn't get to play....some bully took away his cue. ;)

Pretty impressive list...seems like a much longer resume than efren's.

but then again, efren's early wins in the Philippines probably weren't recorded for posterity....

We sponsored Ralf for two years. He is a true professional in all aspects of his life. A lot of players could do a lot more for themselves if they were to copy some of what Ralf does for himself.

Efren?

His early resume looks likes this

1979 : Beat Boy Samson for 300,000 pesos
1980: Gave Chicken George 50 points and won 250,000 Pesos
1981: Boy/Girl Carla/Carlos loses 600,000 pesos and a penis - now it's just Girl Carla.
1982: Went to some tournament in Texas and busted a lot of gringos who thought I was a Mexican.
1983-Now I am still the most feared player on Earth after they found out my real name. But I hate that Ralf Souquet he never mees against me.

Mike,
Can you give us an update on Evgeny Stalev? What is he up to? Has he been traveling to play pool of any sort to any countries.
There is very little current information about Evgeny. When he was here in New Orleans a few years back, he conducted himself as a gentleman and a ferocious competitor.
